Pierre Benichou

Pierre Benichou presently works as independent consultant on patent searches and technology surveys. He joined Decript as a specialist of the computer management of chemical structures, and particularly, structures exhibiting a high level of genericity such as Markush structures.Pierre is a former student of the French School “Ecole Normale Supérieure”, and is doctor in Plant Biochemistry. He has worked at the Paris University , teaching and doing research in Biochemistry and Biological Engineering.
Pierre decided to leave University to work as Project Manager in the field of Patents and Chemical Information. He headed development teams at Questel.Orbit, a well-known provider of online services for Industrial Property. During this period, Pierre acquired particular skills on the management of Markush structures through the MMS and Darc services. Pierre also managed a Business Unit dedicated to services on trademarks, domain names and company names. He then joined an international IP Attorneys company, Novagraaf, in order to develop services dedicated to searches on trademarks, domain names and patents.
At DecrIPt, Pierre is mainly involved in the indexing of Markush structures issued from patent literature and the chemical accuracy of their subsequent enumeration.
